We’re currently seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to join our 2nd shift team. This full-time role reports to the Quality Manager and plays a key role in ensuring production quality, conducting inspections, audits, and contributing to continuous improvement.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Perform First Article Inspections and document findings
- Use measuring tools (calipers, pin gages) to ensure part accuracy
- Monitor in-process quality and confirm product compliance
- Document and manage non-conformances in QA systems
- Research retain samples and correspondence to determine part status
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Maintain document control and part libraries
- Collect data for SPC as needed
- Jump in with a team-first mentality to support production goals
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Prior experience in a quality-related field
- Familiarity with ANSI Y14.5 and ISO-based quality systems
- Basic math competency (testing required)
- Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems (IQMS preferred)
- Injection molding experience preferred
- Regular and reliable attendance is essential

Triad Plastic Technologies is a high-quality, ISO certified plastic injection molding facility in the beautiful South Meadows commercial park in South Reno. We have an immediate opening for a Maintenance Technician on First Shift (Monday through Friday, 7am – 3:30pm) Successful candidates for this position will have experience maintaining injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and facilities. Also works well with others, and maintain our cooperative, fast paced production environment; perform duties with a high level of craftsmanship; be detail oriented with an eye and a heart for our customers and our company. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
General:
Controls, schedules, and executes all required equipment maintenance (preventative and otherwise).
Controls, schedules, and executes all required facility maintenance and repairs.
Maintains Triad ERP Database to document repairs.
Directs activities for assigned ancillary personnel.
Generates Purchase Orders, and as needed, acquires all necessary supplies.
Generates, issues, and maintains Preventative Maintenance Work Orders.
Leadership:
Be able to listen and direct small groups. Work inside of the safety program with performance of Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and safety huddles.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time on concrete floor
Must be able to walk, stoop, kneel and climb ladders and staircases.
Must be able to lift up to 50- 100lbs.
Must be able operate mobile equipment and drive company vehicles
Must be able to work at elevated heights (on ladders, boom lifts, roof tops etc.)
Qualifications:
3+ years as maintenance technician in manufacturing environment
Must have own tools and be willing to react to off-hour emergencies.
Must have a basic background in electrical and PLC’s
Possess an understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
Strong Interpersonal Skills
Basic math – algebra and geometry a plus
Solid Communication Skills (written/verbal)
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Decision making skills

Injection Molding Process Technician – Compensation DOE
Oversee plastic injection molding processes to ensure compliance to customer requirements.
Responsibility & Authority:
- Sampling of new injection molds – develop process and work instructions.
- Update work instructions as needed for operator functions per customer specification.
- Monitor and oversee production process.
- Advise mold maintenance.
- Design review as required.
- Monitors, controls and improves production / plant / personnel operational effectiveness, efficiency and quality.
- Identification and communication of necessary deviations from customer requirements.
- Advise management on engineering change order processes.
- Other duties as may be assigned or implemented.
Prerequisites include:

- Fluent English.
- Advanced knowledge of injection molding and production along with required subordinate processes. Must be able to adequately establish, coordinate, and troubleshoot with no supervision.
- Computer Skills: MS Office operation and manipulation of windows based software.
- High School diploma or GED required. Additional professional training desired.
